Our Founder — Dr Lawrence Lau
CEREC Files Education was founded in 2015 by Dr Lawrence Lau, a CEREC user since 2004, Lawrence incorporates CEREC, CBCT and dental lasers in his daily clinical practice. An officially ISCD certified international CEREC trainer, Lawrence is a renowned CEREC speaker both locally and internationally.
Lawrence graduated with honors from Sydney University in 1997 and was the recipient of the prosthetic academic prize. Lawrence is the owner of 3 dental practices in Sydney, Australia.
Dr Lau leads and teaches across all modules of the CEREC Masters Program, combining hands-on guidance with the latest evidence-based techniques. His approachable teaching style and commitment to clinical excellence have helped hundreds of dentists transform the way they deliver patient care.

At CEREC Files Education, our programs are led by a team of experienced clinicians who share a passion for digital dentistry and hands-on learning. Together, they bring a wealth of clinical experience, practical insight, and a shared commitment to helping dentists implement digital workflows confidently and efficiently.
Our educators are practicing dentists who use these digital systems every day in their own surgeries — so everything they teach is grounded in real-world application.
Dr Alistair Graham
CEREC Trainer
Alistair graduated at Bristol University, England, and has done further postgraduate study at Sydney University, completing the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Oral Implants). After spending 7 years working in private practice in London, he moved to Australia in 2004, starting his practice Mona Vale Dental in 2009. He has been a CEREC user for over a decade and uses it daily to integrate digital workflows into his practice. He is also a Digital Smile Design (DSD) Master and KOL, a member of the Shepperson Education team, and presents locally and internationally.
Dr Mark Casiglia
CEREC Trainer
Mark received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours from Sydney University in 1990. The founder and Principal dentist of Apple Dental in Lane Cove, Sydney, Mark adopted CEREC technology in 2008 in his Practice. He used the workflow comprehensively for full mouth rehabilitations, crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays and veneers. In addition to this, he has a wealth of experience in planning, placing and restoring implants using the CEREC integrated digital workflows.
Dr Kurt Dean
CEREC Trainer
Dr Kurt Dean (BDSc, DICOI) graduated from the University of Queensland in 1997 and currently practices at Dental Serenity in Sydney. With almost 30 years of clinical experience, he has developed a strong interest in prosthetic and restorative implant dentistry, with a particular focus on the integration of digital technologies.
Since first adopting digital workflows with CEREC in 2008, Dr Dean has continually evolved his approach—advancing through Omnicam to the Primescan IO scanner. He now incorporates a range of CAD/CAM systems, enabling precise in-house design and milling of crowns, custom abutments, bridges, and full-arch “All-on-X” restorations.
Dr Dean is the current President of the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry and a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
Dr Ron Patel
CEREC Trainer
Dr Ron Patel (BDS U.Lond GKT 2003, MJDF, PGDip Implants) is a general dentist with a passion for digital dentistry, implants and continual learning. After moving from the UK to Melbourne in 2011, he discovered how transformative CEREC could be for everyday clinical practice.
Having completed the CEREC modules himself, Ron now assists Lawrence, Alistair and Mark in teaching the courses, sharing practical, real-world insights from daily use. He is known for his calm, approachable manner and his belief that technology should enhance, not replace, sound clinical dentistry.
Dr Gloria Shih
CEREC Coordinator
Gloria graduated from Sydney University in 1997 and operates 3 Sydney metro dental surgeries. A CEREC user since 2004, Gloria has a wealth of experience in the CEREC CadCam workflow. Gloria heads up the organisation of the CEREC Files courses.
